Los Angeles City Councilman David E. Ryu represents Los Angeles? 4th Council District. Ryu became the first Korean American to serve on the Los Angeles City Council and only the second Asian American elected to the City Council.
Ryu has instituted landmark reforms focused on bringing transparency to City Hall. He has introduced and passed legislation mandating document retention put in place a first-ever Discretionary Funds Task Force, a citizen-run panel which oversees discretionary spending in Council District Four and has fought for sweeping reform to the City?s campaign finance laws. To date, Ryu is the only Councilmember in Los Angeles to publish all of his discretionary spendings online.
Councilman David Ryu chairs the Health, Education, Neighborhoods, Parks, Arts and River; and sits on the Homelessness and Poverty; Immigrant Affairs, Civil Rights, and Equity; Public Safety; and Public Works and Gang Reduction committees.

VICA After Dark is a regular evening reception designed to give VICA members and guests the opportunity to hear updates about policies and legislation impacting the business community from a featured opinion leader. Attendees enjoy a hosted beer and wine bar along with appetizers as they meet and interact with other prominent business leaders from the community.
