Background: As part of the City of Los Angeles’s on-going Accessing LA series, and in celebration of the Hispanic Heritage Month, the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, and Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Office of Economic Development are bringing small business resources and contracting opportunities to the San Fernando Valley! Goal/ Focus: The goal of the Accessing LA event is to 1.) Help entrepreneurs and small businesses start, build, and grow, 2.) Engage with City departments and prime contractors, and 3.) Learn best practices to prepare yourself to do business with the City of Los Angeles. The Accessing LA event will provide entrepreneurs and small business owners with: Workshops and Panel Discussions - Increase your business capacity and development; Resource Tables - Link up with existing public and private resources and services; Networking - Connect with entrepreneurs, small business owners (B2B), City Officials, and Prime contractors; and Contracting and Sub-Contracting Opportunities - Learn about the Los Angeles Business Assistance Virtual Network (BAVN) and how to do business with the City and other public and private entities.
